New, On Hold

Added November 3, 2024.

Spectacular 1,400sf+ of original surface, foot worn, numbered, wide, long, antique Eastern White pine flooring.  A fabulous find and a long time in the making.  This came from the Chichester, NH meeting house which dates to the 1770’s, but I think the original floor wore out and this floor was put in during the mid-1800’s.  It is numbered so the footwear matches the sister boards.  Installed correctly, this floor can look like it was original.  It’s a wonderful floor.  Dry, never painted or sanded. The boards are hand planed and foot worn and no need for sanding which would ruin the original patina and surface.  Approximately 90% of boards are ~16’ long and widths from 10” to 18” +/-.  A row of 4’ers ran between the 16’ers to make it a ~ 36’ length x ~ 44’ width +/-. The floor has small, rectangular notches where pews were attached when it was a church in the 1800’s.  They can be patched.  The square footage is conservative to account for damage (not significant)/waste. The pictures are of the meeting house, a few boards in place and a few boards after putting them in the barn.  Unfortunately, I am unable to move all the boards outside for pictures due to an injury. The 4th picture shows one of three similar stack.  Small amount of shorts in front of stacks.

If you are looking for a ‘great room’ or addition that this floor could be used in, look at the 18th C. roof system from Northwood, NH.  It is 30’x40’ and I would sell it with this flooring batch for an additional $12,000.  See ‘salvage wood’.
