Antique stone trough
Stone Trough #1: The purpose for this nicely tooled stone
trough is a mystery to us. It has very smooth channels possibly to hold a
bar with a larger cylinder (which was not found with the trough). As the cylinder
turned, we think it transferred liquid in the trough (glue?, tanning solution?
dye?) to another media on the topside that rolled across the cylinder.
Dimensions: 54" long x 13" wide x 8" high,
4" deep at center.
